I went through a couple of blog reviews for a good place to stay in Vigan. Narrowing down my choices into a short list, I decided to settle with Hem Apartelle.

Since their Facebook page isn’t responsive, I managed to find out their mobile number online and booked my reservation. I wasn’t asked to pay a deposit which was great. The receptionist on the phone simply took note of my name, number , and duration of stay so they knew who to expect when I come around.

I arrived in Vigan at dawn and although my check-in time wasn’t until 2 PM that day, they let me leave most of my stuff with them so I don’t have to go touring the whole of Vigan like a turtle with all my stuff.

The interiors were simple and very clean — stucco walls, wooden furniture, no frills. It’s got a huge cabinet but I didn’t feel the need to use it. I just spread all my stuff on the second bed, haha.

The blankets were not the usual white hotel linens but abel woven sheets, so it was extra cozy even with the AC on blast.

I think I was the only visitor at that time because the whole place was so quiet. I left the TV on all night to keep me company.

The bathroom has  a “Water not potable” sign attached on the towel rack. Who drinks water in the bathroom was way beyond me but some may have already tried, which explained the sign.
